BUKIT TABUR
I received many queries regarding this beautiful and scenic hiking paradise in Kuala Lumpur. Bukit Tabur is by far one of my favourite hiking spot as you will be rewarded with great views throughout the hike.
Getting There
Bukit Tabur is located near the Klang gates or just a few minutes drive from Zoo Negara. Getting there is relatively easy. Presuming you are driving along MRR 2 from the Salak Selatan / Cheras direction towards Wangsa Maju, take the exit at Taman Melawati once you passed by Tesco hyper mart on your left hand side. You should be able to see the sign after a few kilometers away. Turn right at the traffic light and you should pass by a petrol kiosk as well as Taman Melawati School a few km away. Head straight until you reach a round about. Take a left ( 9 o' clock ) turn and head straight for the second round about. This time, take a 12 o' clock turn. Turn right and at the next road-split, take the right hand lane and all the way in until you reach the Klang gate entrance. The starting point is just located a few steps to the right of the entrance. For first timer, I would recommend some experienced hikers along.
Tips & Recommendations - Proper shoes
- Water - around 1 litre
- Torch light - if you plan hike really early for taking sunrise shots
- Light snacks like apples, bananas and sandwiches. Please leave your koey teow goreng and mee rebus at home please : )
- Swiss army knife - bring it a long if you have one.
- Camera ( of course ! )
- Zip lock or plastic bag to protect your gadgets in case if it rains
- Sunblock - optional
- HAVE FUN !
